This caused a jumping castle and several inflatable &#8220;zorb&#8221; balls, the <em><strong>castle that was lifted<\/strong><\/em> into the air,&#8221; Tasmanian Police said in a statement.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Police Commissioner Darren Hine<\/strong> <strong>Hillcrest Primary School<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>In an <strong><em>initial statement, Hine said<\/em>. <\/strong>Children died. <strong>A fun<\/strong> day in December <em><strong>turned into such a horrific <\/strong><\/em>tragedy at the school in Devonport, Tasmania, Tasmanian Police Commissioner Darren Hine said. Children are <em><strong>falling from a bouncy<\/strong><\/em> castle at school celebrating the end of the year when a significant local wind event lifted it 33 feet, and the children were lost.<\/p>\n<p>The <em><strong>deadly incident involved<\/strong> <\/em>five children who were victims of the jumping castle; two boys and two girls were tossed from about 32 feet. The <em><strong>Police confirmed<\/strong> <\/em>that a fifth child died in the hospital. Hines said their heart is <em><strong>breaking for the families<\/strong><\/em>, students, and teachers. Five children were being treated<strong>. Four children <\/strong>were in critical condition. An investigation is underway of the <em><strong>castle that was lifted, Police said<\/strong><\/em>.<\/p>\n<h3>Paramedics on Scene<\/h3>\n<p><em><strong>Police officers said <\/strong>after a <strong>gust of wind<\/strong><\/em> caused the bouncy castle accident.<em><strong> Emergency services <\/strong><\/em>arrived at the school. The emergency services personnel pronounced four students deceased and administered first aid to the injured students.<\/p>\n<h4>The injured victims were transported by emergency services personnel work helicopters to a hospital with injuries from Devonport, Tasmania. We are closing the school for the <strong>rest <\/strong>of the day.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We ask that parents come to collect their students as a matter of urgency.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>Tasmania police <\/strong><\/em>commander Debbie Williams told reporters, &#8220;This is a very tragic event, and our thoughts are with the families and the <em><strong>wider school community<\/strong><\/em>, and also our first responders.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Police Facebook comments offer phone numbers for mental health counseling hotlines for those in school in Devonport, Tasmania.<\/p>\n<p>Fox News asked for comment from the Hillcrest Primary School and Tasmania Police in an analysis &#8220;Our hearts are breaking for those affected by the incident today.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>There would likely be criminal charges and a significant wrongful death lawsuit already filed if the accident happened in California.
