Site Mechanics and Proper Flow

Just about anyone can throw together a website. It’s not exactly easy, but it’s not exactly rocket science either. A number of factors make a key difference in how your site is seen among your competitors and the general public.

Here’s some things to remember:

  • Organization is key. It’s one thing to have your information on the site. It’s quite another to have it all in place. If you have content siloed and categorized, it’s more likely to be on the top search engine results.
  • Keep up with SEO. Google’s updates are nearly non-stop. Keep an eye on what the search giant looks for in its rankings. See what stayed the same and what changed. It could change before you realize it.
  • Diversify media. Graphs, charts, photos, videos. You want it all. Properly captioned material is a must. Make sure that your pictures are optimized and load quickly.
  • Can people get a hold of you? Many of your site visitors want a direct line to you. Is there an easy way for them to contact your or reach your Facebook page? Make sure it’s visible and accessible.
  • These are just some of the ways you will be the talk of the town and hopefully to governor of Google.
