Child Sex Crimes Statistics
Most of these accusations involve men abusing little boys and were covered by The Post Millennial as they developed over the first six months of 2022. Fox Digital has examined news articles pulled from local reports since January and discovered that there is usually one arrest every day.
While 78% of the arrests were of men sexually abusing little boys, some women educators were charged with sexually abusing their students. 77% of the arrests were related to alleged crimes against students.
Along with being accused of crimes, teachers have been caught taking pupils to drag performances against their parent’s wishes, and other people have boasted about showing off their underwear at school. Recently, a third-grade teacher confessed to socially transitioning students.
Legislators and parents have resisted school boards and districts that have unrestricted control over students’ education, making 2022 a contentious year in education.
What Has the Governor Done?
Governor Ron DeSantis of Florida signed a law to protect parental rights in education, restrict schools from keeping student information secret, mainly information about gender identity, and mandate that schools retain sex education age-appropriate. Parents all throughout the nation are envious of his initiatives.
A Professor Who Supported “Minor-Attracted Persons” Has Been Hired by the Johns Hopkins Center Against Child Sex Abuse
On April 8, 29 counts of child molestation were brought against Anessa Paige Gower, a 35-year-old former biology instructor at Making Waves Academy in Richmond, California.
Gower is charged with sexually assaulting seven students between the years of 2021 and 2022 while working as an instructor at Making Waves. The accusations include forcible sodomy of minors and posting sexually explicit images online.
On February 9, John Doty, a 35-year-old former biology instructor at Career Academy South Bend in Indiana, was charged with six charges of kidnapping, two counts of rape, and one act of attempted rape.
Doty is accused of threatening to kill the 16-year-old pupil while raping her multiple times. In January 2023, a trial is set to begin.
The study follows the publication of a report by the U.S. Department of Education last month titled “Study of State Policies to Prohibit Aiding and Abetting Sexual Misconduct in Schools,” which examined state regulations that forbid “passing the trash” or allowing suspected sexual abusers to covertly leave their jobs to offend again in a different school district potentially.
Educator Sexual Misconduct Imprisoned for Abusing Two Teenage Girls
After two teenage girls reported that Bruccoliere had repeatedly abused them between 2008 and 2019, he was detained on February 11.
As a result of sex offenses perpetrated against two innocent young girls, a Costa Mesa children’s music teacher has been charged with a dozen felonies. In order to find out who the other victims are, the public is being urged to come forward.
Two young females claimed that Anthony “Tony” Philip Bruccoliere, 49, had abused them between 2008 and 2019, which led to his arrest on February 11.
Anthony Philip Bruccoliere is accused of 12 felony counts, including aggravated sexual assault on minors, forcible lewd acts on a kid under 14, sexual penetration with a child under 10, and lewd and lascivious acts on a child under 14. These offenses, taken altogether, carry a possible maximum sentence of 180 years to life.
According to Todd Spitzer, the district attorney for Orange County, by preying on innocent young girls, this man has turned into every parent’s worst nightmare.
According to Spitzer, sexual assault affects a victim’s entire life as they continue to experience psychological harm even after the physical assault.
The District Attorney’s office for Orange County filed many felony charges against him.
According to the O.C. DA’s office, Bruccoliere was held at the Central Men’s Jail on a $1,000,000 bail. It was unclear at first if he had a lawyer to represent him. Records from the jail did not list an initial court date.
Investigate Previous Employees’ Backgrounds and Past Schools
Although all states require prospective employers to conduct criminal background checks on educators, and the majority of states (46) require fingerprinting, the Education Department’s report found that laws prohibiting the practice vary by state and that only 19 states require employers to request information from an applicant’s current and previous employers.
Only 14 states mandate that employers confirm an applicant’s suitability for employment or certification and only 11 mandate that candidates reveal any investigations or disciplinary measures relating to sexual misbehavior or abuse.
Rochdale Child Sex Abuse Ring for Young Girls
Teenage girls under 18 were implicated in the Rochdale child sex abuse ring in Rochdale, Greater Manchester, England. In May 2012, nine men were found guilty of rape, sex trafficking young girls, conspiracy to engage in sexual behavior with a child, and sex trafficking.
Operation Doublet
As a result, Operation Doublet was started by Greater Manchester Police to look into other allegations of abuse, and so far, 19 individuals have been found guilty. During the police inquiry, 47 girls were found to have been the victims of child sexual exploitation. The Jay study estimated in 2014 that the network sexually assaulted at least 1,400 children between 1997 and 2013.
The fact that the individuals were British Pakistanis sparked debate over whether the authorities’ decision not to look into them was motivated by a concern with being accused of racial bias.
The Apology
Greater Manchester Police issued an apology in March 2015 for its inability to look into the claims of child sexual exploitation more extensively between 2008 and 2010. Sara Rowbotham, a sexual health worker who first identified neighborhood patterns of child abuse and battled to call these crimes to authorities, was laid off in 2014.
Margaret Oliver, a former detective constable looking into grooming gangs, left the police force in 2012 after becoming dissatisfied with how the cases were being handled. She then came forward as a whistleblower to tell the public.
